Madikeri is a hill town in southern India. Framed by the Western Ghats mountain range, it’s known for the Raja’s Seat, a simple monument overlooking forests and rice paddies.
It is the headquarters of the district of Coorg/Kodagu. Madikeri lies on the National Highway 275 that runs from Mangalore to Bengaluru, via Mysuru within Karnataka.
It is 120 km from Mysuru and 136 km from Mangalore.

Raja's Seat (Seat of the King) is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. It is one of the most important tourist spots in Madikeri of Coorg District. It is shaped like a small square in brick and mortar, with four pillars bridged by arches, enhanced by beautiful surroundings. It is built on a high level ground with a commanding view of the cliffs and valleys to the west.
The church building houses a museum, which contains several items related to history - mainly the British rule era, and also has a huge portrait of Coorg's eminentt personality Field Marshal K. M. Cariappa. Madikeri Deputy Commissioner's Office is located inside the Madikeri Fort premises.
Mandalpatti, situated at an altitude of around 4050 feet, is a hilltop 18 Kms from the town of Madikeri in Karnataka and is a part of Pushpagiri reserve forest. Mandalpatti has become a famous four-by-four Jeep drive spot to the top.
Kaveri Nisargadhama is an island formed by river Kaveri near Kushalnagar in the district of Kodagu, Karnataka, India. Visitors are allowed to get into water at a few shallow and safe points along the river. Elephant rides and boating are some of the other attractions. It also has a forest department-run guest house and treetop bamboo cottages.
